The student can bring one or more items of clothing or textile articles of any kind, and then choose one on which to set up the work of repair / transformation / enrichment / recovery of the model.

Maybe a dress has been in your closet, unused, for a long time. It should be rethought for your new tastes, adapted to needs you didn’t have before. Maybe it needs to be disassembled and reassembled.
Or there’s a dress to mend. You still like it, but it needs care. Be careful! Mending is a subtle art, made of patience and technique.
In any case, take everything out of the drawer and take it to lofoio!

who’s managa

Born in 1991, Beatrice Sabeddu is an eclectic artisan fashion designer.

The unmistakable Sardinian origins also gave rise to the stage name “managa”, which is used to indicate a clumsy person … a way to exorcise and play down the creative abilities of the young lady in question.

Thanks to the studies addressed in the fashion sector since high school, to the three-year degree in fashion design from the Italian academy, to work experiences in designer studios and luxury clothing production companies, to the design and creation of stage costumes for productions films, Managa has always sought his own independent path. For her, fashion is a means of communication rather than a simple mass material good.

The power of clothing and the emotions it can convey has always attracted her since she was a child, together with her great passion for drawing. Her same passion also brought her closer to the world of tattoos. Through her tattoo Managa renews her love for manual embroidery, and so she gives life to symbols and designs of the traditional style, making them with needle and thread on fabric as our grandmothers did.

Alongside this, many other personal projects including that of refashion, embroidery, collection of vintage clothing and objects, mending. For her, Lofoio makerspace is an integral part of artisanal and artistic training, a springboard for the acquisition of self-confidence.

In short, like all geeks, Managa must always have something to do in her hands otherwise she lacks air, like a fish out of water. Always devoted to Sant’Arrangiati, she tries her hand at the repairing station to convey a little of this devotion and also the possibility of making mistakes, because as she says, “you can make mistakes and try again, no matter if something doesn’t go well immediately. Important is to have done it, and to have done it with care. “

“Do or do not, there is no try” (Master Yoda)
