old furniture restoration

Repairing things instead of throwing them away is one of the principles we want to practice and spread here at Lofoio.
One of the best ways to do this is to recover, repair and give new life to all that abandoned furniture full of stories and meanings that can still be saved.
We are referring to the furniture forgotten in the attic or those in second-hand shops: trunks, sideboards, bedside tables that you love, they will come back to live with you.

To avoid throwing away precious resources, you need the advice of someone who restores furniture every day. Our expert woodworker Giacomo “Momo” Casini will teach techniques and tricks. Under his guidance we learn to restore furniture damaged by time, rediscovering its personality and usefulness.

Each class dedicates itself to the collective restoration of at least one piece of furniture. We choose broken furniture that makes you learn as many things as possible. Everyone experiments with techniques and tools, learning to recognize woods and surfaces to use the right treatments. Furthermore, everyone can submit a case study to be addressed together with the teacher and the rest of the class via photo or in person.
