In this workshop we will cover the following topics:
- theoretical rudiments: what is current, how to read symbols and labels
- how a domestic electrical system is made
- how to choose components
- minimum equipment, protections, safety, work at height
- adding sockets and joints
- extension cables, building custom extensions, adapting plugs and sockets
- how to manage an emergency blackout
- adapters, multi-socket strip: do it with care
- light bulbs, chandeliers, lamp holders
And above all we will practice! Lots of practice in customized workstations with an expert guide.
some limitations
We take your safety seriously, at least as much as we care about making you independent. In the course you will not be licensed to work as an electrician for others and we will clearly tell you how far you can go with what you learn from us.
The aim of the course is to make you independent in low-risk maintenance and in adapting systems to the evolution of your needs as a resident.
No longer will you have to wait months to fix a faulty socket or chase your craftsman cousin to move a chandelier. Friendly technology, welcoming home, peaceful life!

Advance booking is required to register for this workshop; it costs 170 euros and includes two sessions divided into two days. The fee includes the use of tools, consumables, handouts and individual protections.
The cost does not include Lofoio Association membership, which is 10 euros/year (356 days from the day of registration).
Our registration fees cover out-of-pocket costs of the activities we make.
That’s why we ask for advance booking and payment.
If any impediment to partecipate arises between the initiation registration and the event, please inform us: we will try to find someone to substitute you in time and your payment fee will remain valid for other activities.
In case Lofoio should cancel or postpone the event, you are entitled to a refund.
